Charles R. Tibbels

Charles (Charlie) R. Tibbels handles a variety of legal matters including business/corporate matters, estate planning, probate, real estate, general civil matters, and criminal law.
Before law school, Charlie was the Chief Information Officer for a Wise County based healthcare company where he also served as the Privacy and Security Officer during the HIPAA implementation of the early 2000’s. After several years as a healthcare executive, Charlie and his family decided the time was right for him to attend law school.
Charlie is a graduate of Decatur High School (’88). He spent a few years at Texas Tech University where he played trumpet in the “Goin’ Band from Raiderland” and was also Texas Tech’s mascot, Raider Red, in the fall of 1991. After moving home to marry his high school sweetheart, Misti, Charlie attended the University of North Texas (BBA Economics, ’02). He obtained his Juris Doctorate from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law (’12) (now known as Texas A&M School of Law). Charlie has practiced law in Wise County since 2012.
In 2013, Charlie joined Mike Carrillo to form Carrillo|Tibbels, PLLC, and enjoyed a successful and growing firm that handled a variety of legal matters. In January 2020, Charlie and Mike joined Mary Lois Spain-Sipes to form Carrillo|Sipes|Tibbels, PLLC.
He is an avid musician and has played guitar for over 35 years. Charlie is an active member of Crossroads Church in Decatur, Texas, where he plays guitar most every Sunday.
Charlie is a member of the State Bar of Texas. He is a member of the Real Estate, Probate, and Trust Law, Business Law, and School Law Sections of the Texas Bar, and currently serves as the Secretary/Treasurer of the Wise County Bar Association.
Most of all, Charlie enjoys spending time with his wife of over 25 years, Misti, and their two children, Zack and Marlee.
